Clan Donald Lands Trust have embarked on this major development to create a unique new settlement, in one of Scotland’s most iconic locations, rich in wildlife, world renowned scenery and steeped in heritage. The planned village will provide opportunities and accommodation of unrivalled quality, place-making this 21st century modern development into a world class site. The approach to this development has been from its inception - balanced, sustainable and harmonious - with a visionary flair.
Kilbeg Village on the Sleat peninsula in Skye will be a dynamic new settlement offering room for enterprise development, a large community green space and leisure facilities, and a wide range of housing designed to meet the current and future needs of the local community. It will enable Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, Scotland’s National Centre for Gaelic Language and Culture, the opportunity to expand, develop new teaching and conference facilities and provide more student accommodation. It aims to be an exemplar environment, incorporating innovative design that is sensitive to this beautiful area. It will be designed as a sustainable village, achieving highest possible energy efficiencies by utilising progressive technological solutions.
This Project is being part financed by the Scottish Government and the European Community Highland LEADER 2007-2013 Programme and by Highlands and Islands Enterprise.
